Two new guided sessions have been introduced at the New Lanark World Heritage Site in South Lanarkshire. With “Owen’s Schoolchildren”, pupils spend an hour in the 1820s classroom with a costumed teacher, who will give lessons in handwriting, arithmetic, drill, and nature studies. Younger groups are introduced to light, sound and colour in interactive gallery sessions. Features include ceiling-to-floor musical strings, a silver padded floor where pools of reflected colour can be created, and a ripple wall which moves to the gentle sounds of running water.
