* Microsoft has launched an enhanced version of its Media Centre PC standard, called 2005 Media Center software. Packard Bell is one of the first companies to launch Media Center PCs which use the new software. The basic model, the iXtreme MC2101 has an Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512Mb RAM memory and 320Gb hard drive. It costs pound;1,199, while the bigger MC2301 has 1Gb of RAM memory, a 400Gb hard drive and super-bass speaker and costs pound;1,399. Both PCs have Packard Bell’s net2plug technology, which allows files, data and broadband internet content to be passed around a home network via the main electricity supply. www.packardbell.co.uk
