First-year students in the diploma course at Craigie and Hamilton colleges of education have been told that talks between the two colleges and Strathclyde University about courses leading to a Strathclyde BEd degree are now at an advanced stage.

The senate of the university states: “BEd students will begin their degree studies in their third year at college and complete the degree course in a fourth year spent at Strathclyde, with teaching practice under the control of the college” TES Scotland, may 14, 1971
