* It is estimated that around 3 million people in the UK suffer from some form of tremor. A device developed by an IBM researcher can be used to help computer users who suffer from this condition. The Assistive Mouse Adapter (ASM) is a small box that plugs into a mouse and a computer and requires no additional software. It uses technology that is similar to that used by image stabilisation or anti-shake systems found on many camcorders. The ASM costs pound;67 and is available from UK company Montose Secam.
