Alcoholics Anonymous is clearly aware of the NASUWT's reputation as hard-drinking fans of real ale.

The support organisation had its own stand at the conference, directly facing the bar in the exhibition hall."We wouldn't have chosen the position, but we don't mind," an AA volunteer said. "Some people walked past with pint glasses in their hands and made joking comments, but it gave us a chance to talk with them."
