Childcare professionals are concerned about an increase in cases of emotional abuse of children, an NSPCC survey reveals. More than seven out of 10 professionals said they had dealt with cases of emotionally abused children in the past five years.
Almost all of the respondents, 98 per cent, thought the public should have greater awareness and understanding of childhood emotional abuse. However, less than half of those surveyed, 44 per cent, felt they had enough knowledge and training themselves to deal with it.
