Positively the last epistle from Dalkeith - well, for now. The opening of the multi-school campus two weeks ago was graced by, among others, Adam Montgomery, Midlothian Council’s leader.
As is inevitable on such occasions, Montgomery said these were fine schools which could boast many successes. A former pupil of one of them was even the constituency’s MP, he noted - “not that I’m mentioning that as one of the successes,” he quipped.
This did not seem to faze burly ex-miner David Hamilton, whose route to Westminster took him via Dalkeith High. Montgomery has been seen since.
