“Early adopter” schools are the successors of the 32 pathfinder schools which were given a share of pound;4 million to pilot new ways of cutting teachers’ workload by taking on more staff, introducing more computer technology or providing extra space. Both schemes are designed to promote the workforce remodelling agreement between the teacher unions and the Government which aims to free teacher from more than 20 administrative tasks. But early adopter schools do not receive extra funding.
