Advice charity forced to quit

So many parents have made demands on a charity devoted to helping with records of needs that it is having give up the service.

Lothian Children, which was set up six years ago to offer advice and support for children with speech or language disorders, sought funding from the Scottish Office, but its plans were rejected.

The charity will now devote its energies to advocacy rather than practical assistance.
