Claire Droney has been working with people with autism since 2004. First, as a special class teacher and then as an advisory teacher for children with autism in mainstream schools.

In this video, we:

  • Identify the four key areas of difference that are looked at in order to get a diagnosis of autism
  • Discuss why more boys than girls have traditionally been diagnosed with autism, and why this figure is now changing
  • Look at the Dyad of Impairments (previously called the Triad of Impairments) used to diagnose autism in the DSM 5

This is the first video in the series, be sure to watch the rest.
