News from the world of educational publishing reveals that some things never change. John Mitchell, managing director of the newly formed Hodder Gibson, reports that the Gibson minute books form a rich historical record of the famous Glasgow company.

Particularly interesting was the record of the 1964 annual meeting, where the chairman reported that profits were slightly lower than expected because it had been an especially difficult year. Unprecedented alterations to the curriculum in all sectors and many subjects had made publishing for the market extremely difficult.

The wheel of educational change, it seems, has been rolling for quite a while.
