Pupils and teachers celebrated the first birthday of a scheme to improve literacy in London’s Docklands with a cake and the launch of 600 balloons. The National Literacy Association Docklands Learning Acceleration scheme involves 600 pupils in 14 primary schools in the area using computers and traditional teaching.
