Anti-cuts demo deserves to be taken seriously

Your “The Week” column (1 April) read: “Bonus points must go to the NASUWT’s demo-material” and noted that demonstrators were “engulfed by (NASUWT) flags, banners and T-shirts”.

So, The TES finally recognises the impact of the NASUWT - but then completely fails to reflect it in the Parkins cartoon later in the edition. Perhaps I should be pleased, as the biggest demonstration of the decade against public sector cuts is no joking matter - despite being treated as such in last week’s edition.

Paula Roe, National junior vice-president, NASUWT.
