A maths teacher at a top secondary school has been sacked and is appealing against the decision. David Aldridge, head of Year 8 at the 1,900-pupil Olchfa comprehensive, in Swansea, had been suspended on full pay since last Christmas. The 53-year-old, from Dunvant, Swansea, was arrested 10 months ago for allegedly assaulting a child, but police said in February that no charges would be brought against him.
