rmcmurphy: Half of this teaching week will be covered by kids learning for themselves on the internet. How long will it be before education meets the 21st century and we become overseers of learning?

Scotia With video-conferencing becoming more commonplace, it's not inconceivable that teaching may become a "distance learning" process eventually. In some ways I 'd welcome this as a social experiment - it might persuade pupils, parents and policy-makers of the true value of good teachers and bring a new respect for the role. You don't miss the water till the well runs dry.

re: The teacher-less classroom is about as imminent as the paperless office that was widely predicted in the 60s 70s.
