In Argyll the primary on Kerrera will be mothballed rather than closed next session when there are no pupils. The education committee last week voted by 14 votes to nine to retain it after hearing the implications of closure for the livelihood of the island and the potential dangers of the sea crossing to Oban where future pupils would be educated.
