The Royal Arsenal in Greenwich has been opened to the public for the first time in 300 years. It is a valuable heritage site established by the Crown in 1671 with 20 listed buildings including the Royal Laboratory (1696) and Royal Brass Foundry (1779). The surrounding walls were built by convicts from the nearby prison hulks, and Arsenal Football Club was founded here. Details: 0181 317 9971.
