Standard grade art and design students from Peebles High have opened an exhibition of work they created after exploring their town centre’s architecture.

They worked with artist Tim Chamberlain, architectural illustrator Gareth Hughes and Chris Sawers from Tweeddale Museum, sketching buildings on the High Street.

Mr Chamberlain said: “For me, this project is about looking at your own habitat and seeing all the structures and details you had never noticed were there.”

The project is part of Tweeddale Museum’s celebrations of 150 years of the Chambers Institution, where the museum is based. It is a partnership between Scottish Borders Council’s museum and gallery service and the cultural co-ordinator programme.

The exhibition, Opening Doors - Living Room: Exploring A Sense of Place in the Scottish Borders, runs until October 30.
