The work of talented young artists from across Scotland has gone on permanent display at the Scotland Offices in Edinburgh and London. The 18 pupils and former pupils produced some of last year’s most striking work submitted to the Scottish Qualifications Authority for national courses in art and design. Their achievement was marked in an official reception hosted by Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander in Edinburgh last week.

Joshua Wilkie, formerly of Gleniffer High, presented the original of his still life, “Grandma’s Kitchen”, to Mr Alexander, while all artists were presented with framed prints of their originals, including “Black is Beautiful” by Craig Tobin, pictured.

After helping their creators gain passes at Standard grade, Intermediate and Higher, the pieces were included in the SQA Inspirational Art Collection that toured the the country last year, before finding homes in Edinburgh and London.
