Though not wishing to deny the accuracy of your report (TES, January 8) of the Further Education Funding Council inspection conclusions about some aspects of the work of Kidderminster College, I regret that, by omission, you may damage the reputation of its excellent performing arts work.

It was not inspected on the recent visit, but previously the performing arts section was awarded a Grade 1. This was one of only three colleges in the country, at that time, to have such recognition in the arts.

Your own pages in the fairly recent past have recorded that a student of the section was chosen by BTEC as Student of the Year and that the Further Education Development Agency invited the section to represent performing arts at its conference, celebrating quality work in further education.
