The Scottish Society for Autism’s mascot, Wallace the Bear, embarked on a profile-raising tour of Scotland on April 2 to mark World Autism Awareness Day.
Wallace will be visiting primary schools, and his first stop will be Strathblane Primary outside Glasgow.
Alan Somerville, the society’s chief executive officer, said: “Autism affects children in every part of the world and it is important that, at an early age, children understand that autism exists - only in this way can we broaden attitudes and increase awareness among adults. We are delighted to support education professionals in their efforts to achieve this.”
