Assault case teacher resigns

A special-needs teacher has been convicted of assaulting a pupil.

Heather Brace, 59, was found guilty of slapping a pupil at a school in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

She was ordered by magistrates to complete 180 hours of community service and pay pound;200 in compensation. She had been suspended since February and resigned after her conviction.
