International Day for Tolerance (16 November)

An assembly shared by narijagait focuses on human rights. Using images to stimulate discussion, the presentation asks pupils to think about what human rights are - for example, the right to choose what music to listen to or the right to an education.

The PowerPoint continues by introducing the Human Rights Act 1998 and explaining why rights are important.

It ends with a thought-provoking quote from Nelson Mandela: “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
