An asthma vaccine, developed from soil bacteria “dramatically” reduced the symptoms in eight out of 12 asthma sufferers in a study.

Professor Stephen Holgate, an expert from Southampton University, blamed increased asthma on hygienic lifestyles which “may deprive our immune response of stimuli” in early life.
