The Scottish Schools Athletic Association has announced a squad of 16 for the pentathlon home international against England and Ireland at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, on December 14. Wales declined the invitation due to lack of finances.

The Scottish squad, which includes Carly Sharp, daughter of former Scottish and GB international sprinter Cameron Sharp, received a coaching day at Grangemouth Stadium earlier this month in preparation for the event.

The full squad is: under-18s, boys: C Baily (Glenwood HS), G Sweeney (Elgin Acad), S Tough (Brechin HS), S Rowan (Crieff HS); girls: J Halket (Ellon Acad), L Ferguson (Turriff Acad), A Larcombe (Hunter HS), C Smy (Banchory Acad); under-16s, boys: K Robertson (Bishopbriggs HS), R Gray (Mackie Acad), J Hay (Crieff HS), R Finlayson (Dalkieth HS); girls: C Sharp (Mary Erskine School), E Leggate (Hunter HS), E Cloggie (Banchory Acad), E Carrington (Nicolson Inst).
