Scottish Athletics has recruited Allan Wells, the 1980 Olympic 100m champion, to help the next generation of Scottish sprinters.

Scotland has produced a number of world-class sprinters over the years and Wells will be charged with developing the most talented teenagers in the country.

“I’m entering into this with a real sense of excitement,” he said. “I see it as an evolving role over the coming months and years and an opportunity for me to put something back directly into the sport as we move toward future international games opportunities.”
