The theme this year is geometry and the part geometry can play in the rich pattern of mathematics. The key-note speakers are John Mason from the Open University and Laurinda Brown from Bristol University. There will be an extensive range of seminars and practical sessions that should appeal to students as well as experienced members, whether primary or secondary. There are sessions on teaching and learning, some linking geometry to art and design, bubbles, paper folding, the mathematics behind Morris dancing, Celtic Knots, etc. Professional officers from SCAA will lead an open discussion on the new Order.
The workshop, a special feature of ATM conference, remains operational throughout the four days of the conference. A superb collection of resources will be available to delegates for exploring ideas whenever they choose.
