The Norah Sande award, a new opportunity for musicians aged 17 to 25 who are resident, training or working in Kent, Sussex or Surrey, will be run every two years, featuring a different instrument each time.

The first competition is open to pianists. Top prize is pound;2,000 with a possible recital opportunity. Competitors will have their performances heard by internationally renowned adjudicators and live audiences. The minimum performance standard necessary is Grade VIII Distinction. Entrants should submit a CD containing two or three contrasting pieces by February 28.
