“If you need some tips on how to thrive as a new teacher” (Teacher Support Network advertisement, TES, September 9), don’t ride a motor scooter on a public highway without a crash helmet, as the “teacher” in the photograph appears to be doing. Three points on your licence, a hefty fine and possible serious head injuries won’t help your induction year progress.
