Badminton Scotland has broken the 10,000 barrier in terms of schoolchildren who have played in its badminton carnivals, where they can try their hand at the game.

With support from the Bank of Scotland, carnival events are held throughout Scotland, most recently at Perth, Greenock, Montrose and Airdrie. The main annual carnival is held in Glasgow. Badminton Scotland sees them as vital to development. The events help to upgrade schools affiliation packages and obtain feedback from teachers and pupils.
