The Scottish Schools’ Badminton Union will host the schools’

under-13, under-14, under-15 and under-16 doubles competitions at Linwood Sports Centre tomorrow.

Badminton Scotland, the sport’s governing body, has ruled that no coaching of players will be allowed during matches at any of the national championships this season. The move was made in fairness to young players who do not have coaches and found themselves at a disadvantage, even intimidated, when they came to play in international events.

The Scottish Junior Championships earlier this month was the first event to be subject to the ruling.
