I am taking the certificate of school business management course with the National College for School Leadership.
The course is primarily for administratorsbursars to qualify in school business management to release time to heads to manage their schools. It is the equivalent of a first-year degree course (NVQ level 4) and is worth 80 credit accumulation and transfer (CAT) points. Candidates can follow this with the diploma of school business management, worth 160 CAT points. Both courses are accredited by the Institute of Administrative Management and candidates will therefore receive a dual award. Publicity is scarce and it is imperative that governors as well as LEAs and heads know of the courses’ merits.
