The National Union of Teachers is balloting members at Radclyffe school, Oldham, over new industrial action as part of its ongoing dispute over the school’s use of cover supervisors.

It would mean teachers refusing to provide cover of more than one day for any unforeseen absences or any cover at all if the absence was known about in advance.

The union’s original dispute - in which members refused to prepare, plan, mark or assess lessons taken by the supervisors - was suspended after the school said the teachers would have to cover the lessons themselves if it continued.
