Stirling High schoolboy Kieran Achara missed out on the chance to appear in the final of four national competitions when his club Clark Eriksson Fury lost 64-50 in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup to Glasgow. But the 6ft 8in player, who is attracting attention from America, can still apear in three - the Scottish junior, Under-21 and schools’ finals.

Stirling High faces Arbroath High in the senior boys’ schools’ final at Meadowbank tonight. Arbroath put out holders Marr College in the semi-finals 92-72 with Scottish junior cap Ian Pyper scoring 30 points.
