Scotland’s under-15 girls’ basketball squad will seek to improve its record against England when it hosts the Dobbin Cup at Inverness Sports Centre on January 25.

It will be the 24th meeting of the two countries at this level. Scotland has won only four matches, the last time in 2000 when it won 84-74 in Newcastle.

Scotland warmed up for this year’s encounter by beating Iceland 2-1 (54-45; 61-53; 46-101) in a three-game series in Edinburgh earlier this month.

Portobello High will be well represented in the Scottish squad against England, with four members out of 16. The full line-up is: R Anderson, M Duff, E Findlay, S McQueen (all Portobello HS), D MacLaren, E MacNeill (both Millburn Acad), G Motion (Gracemount HS), N Purewal (Mearns Castle HS), S Fleming (Barrhead HS), N Strain (Wood Farm HS), G Stewart (Gryffe HS), A Taylor (St Andrew’s Acad, Paisley), S Moore (Our Lady’s HS, Cumbernauld), C McAulay (Marr Coll), N Doyle (Baldragon Acad) and P Schweikert (St John’s HS, Dundee).
