Scott Milne (St Ninian’s HS, Giffnock) had the distinction of being the highest scorer in any of the Royal Bank Scottish Schools basketball finals just completed.

Scott scored 41 points as St Ninian’s High beat Hillhead High 80-49 in the boys’ Under-15 A final. With team captain Cailean Swanson scoring 30 points, the pair contributed a remarkable 71 of the team’s 80 points. Eclipsing that were Jennifer Luke and Rowan Bell in the girls’

Under-15 A final.

The two players shared all the points for Portobello High - 24 each - in their 48-43 win over Denny High. It is thought to be a unique achievement in schools finals.
