Beacon left in media shadows

I AM the head of a primary in inner-city Bradford. Four years ago we were below national averages in English. We are now achieving at the top level for like schools. Our English test results have increased by 35 per cent in two years. Maths is similar. We now have Beacon status.

I red in some newspapers we are a selective elite among schools. The hard work, effectiveness and commitment of my staff have been sidelined.

Does no one want to give inner-city primary schools any kudos!
