THOUGHT the commercialisation of childhood couldn’t get any worse? Procter and Gamble is marketing loo roll to toddlers by issuing a book of stories about the cartoon bear Charmin who stars in their advertising. The Adventures of Charmin the Bear is written by David McKee, the creator of Mr Benn. The tales for two to four-year-olds focus on the bear being “soft”, “comfortable” and “strong”.
