Last week’s Glasgow conference on lifelong learning (FE Focus, page V) treated us to a glowing biographical account of one of the contributors who recently led “a variety of quality and service delivery improvements including piloting SQA and Open Universities curses, New Deal, ESF work and Beast Value initiatives.”

Well, it was only a conference on literacy, not spelling.
