(Photograph) - Pupils of Nantgarw infant school, Rhondda Cynon Taff, dressed for the part for a project on weddings - complete with band of gold and bridesmaids. The happy couple even signed the marriage register and posed for pictures outside the church afterwards. Headteacher Sue Henderson said the ceremony was planned in response to a “satisfactory” rating for RE in an otherwise glowing Estyn inspection report earlier this year. But the project has also created plenty of opportunities for writing activities, while minister Andrew Webster talked to the children about commitment and making promises in a special assembly on why people get married.
