Miriam Scharf talks of balance (“Not in my name”, Letters, January 23), but fails to disclose her own interests as a member of the executive of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, as well as being secretary of its East London branch. Teaching both sides of the story includes being aware of your own bias and making sure students are aware that many experts also have a bias, however valid or accurate their opinions.

Let’s hope the ceasefire holds, so peace can return for both Israelis and Palestinians.
