A 70-seater New Futures Gallery and Planetarium at Thinktank in Birmingham aims to take visitors on “an inspiring exploration of the night’s sky, our galaxy and beyond”. The Planetarium’s digital projection system beams images onto a 360 LESS THAN dome ceiling and there are daily shows, activities and lectures. The new “Survive on Mars” feature has a spacesuit modelled on a NASA original, currently being tested should there be a mission to the red planet. Thinktank, with 10 interactive galleries, offers “a new way of looking at the past, present and future”.
