Three hundred children were killed and 7,200 seriously injured on Britain’s roads in 1994, according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. BP is attempting to reduce that horrifying total with its road safety programme in schools, now complemented by a teaching pack for 5 to 11-year-olds entitled Living With Traffic (UK). It includes awareness-raising activities and links into national curriculum science, maths and technology.
