We have to report that North Lanarkshire’s Raising Achievement policy may be in danger of foundering due to a lack of balls.

This has nothing to do with a lack of resolve on the part of education staff, and everything to do with a lack of care displayed by a number of youngsters, some of whom seem to be practising for a career as surgeons.

Secondary teachers are reporting an alarming increase in the number of roller balls being prised from computer mice - without anaesthetic - to such an extent that the number of impotent rodents is affecting delivery of information technology in some schools.

Very non-PC.
