Bite teacher, returns to class

A TEACHER who admitted biting a pupil has returned to the school where she carried out the assault. After the incident in May, Christine Bell, 51, was ordered by magistrates to pay the 12-year-old pound;50 compensation and was fined pound;200 with pound;40 costs.

The courtheard she bit the boy as a punishment when pupils were misbehaving in a science class at the Leeds school. Her headteacher said the matter had been dealt with fully and fairly by magistrates and by internal procedures. The boy’s mother has complained.
