A zoo populated with Indian tigers and Asian elephants became a temporary classroom for more than 200 pupils last week after their school burned down.
The pupils, who escaped unscathed after an electrical fault started a blaze at Lympne primary in Kent, attended classes in the grounds and country homes of Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, founded by the late John Aspinall.
Nicky Allen, one of their teachers, said: “It was a unique experience and very surreal.”
