Julie Gascoyne (above) sends her eight-year-old son Jack to Cutthorpe primary school, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
“All I can remember Tony Blair talking about in the last year has been Iraq and Saddam Hussein,” she said.
“I don’t think education has been his top priority at all - he hasn’t done anything like what he said he would.”
Ms Gascoyne, 43, said schools should give places first to the children in their catchment area and then their siblings.
“A lot of schools these days only seem to want to get the best and brightest pupils.
“I don’t think that’s right. Schools should have a proper mixture of children,” she said.
