Dozens of Scottish pupils attended the opening of the Quentin Blake exhibition at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow last week.

The artist made a speech and signed books. For those who missed out, his illustrations including his favourites and specially created new works will be on display until January. There will also be the opportunity to take part in a competition to create a book cover inspired by the collections at Kelvingrove.

Anyone wanting to enter should drop into the Art Discovery Centre at Kelvingrove, where staff will be on hand with drawing materials, between 12.30pm and 3.30pm on October 27 and 28 and November 10 and 11.

Winners will be announced mid-November and will win a selection of artist materials. Only entries submitted to the museum on the dates listed will be accepted.
