A science book of fun facts, a story of a super-sized 11-year-old and a tale of a boy who thinks the new girl next door is a zombie have been shortlisted for the 2010 Blue Peter book awards. Why Eating Bogeys is Good For You by Mitchell Symons is in the Best Book with Facts category with the Usborne Lift-the-flap Picture Atlas by Alex Frith and Kate Leake, and Tail-End Charlie by Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom. In running for The Book I Couldn’t Put Down award is Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce, The Boy Who Fell Down Exit 43 by Harriet Goodwin and Frozen in Time by Ali Sparkes. On the shortlist for the Most Fun Story with Pictures are Peter the Penguin Pioneer by Daren King, Spells by Emily Gravett and Dinkin Dings: and the Frightening Things by Guy Bass and Pete Williamson. Winners will be announced in March.
