The two-day event, organised by the National Association for Special Educational Needs (NASEN) and the Educational Publishers Council, is aimed at those who work with children and young people with special needs.
The exhibition, and its programme of seminars and lectures, gives teachers a chance to keep in touch with developments and explore new ideas.
This year’s lectures includes talks on working with able learners, dyslexia, circle-time, poetry, art therapy, speech and language disorders, autism and integrating pupils with disabilities. Entrance to the exhibition is free; admittance to the lectures is by ticket only, price Pounds 6 each.
The NASEN special needs book awards ceremony will be held at the exhibition on November 4. The awards attract a large number of academic and children’s book publishers and all the entries will be on display. The book awards will be presented by the poet Roger McGough who will also give a special reading of his own work immediately after the ceremony.
Special Needs London 96 will be held at the Business Design Centre, Islington, north London, on November 4-5, from 9.30am to 6pm. Details from Colin Gallow at NASEN, tel: 01827 311500
